Hanwha Systems made an announcement on the 15th that it has signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for 360 billion won to mass-produce the Military Defense Communication System-II network control system and ground terminals.
Through the contract, the two agencies plan to mass-produce and power portable terminals, transportation terminals, and network control systems by March 2024.
The military-based communication system-II project is a project that replaces the already electrified "military-based communication system"and is a satellite-based communication system that enables large-scale data transmission, high-speed anti-jamming link, and military integrated voice and data transmission operation required in the future battlefield environment.
Hanwha System plans to mass-produce network control systems responsible for network control functions, multiple access and resource allocation of satellite handsets, satellite terminals that can transmit voice and data based on IP, portable satellite terminals that can be installed and operated by individuals, and modems and subscriber devices mounted on all satellite terminals.
