Government authorities will supervise Hyundai Engineering & Construction's headquarters and nationwide construction sites, where three workers have died this year alone.
The Ministry of Employment and Labor will conduct an industrial safety and health supervision on Hyundai Engineering & Construction's headquarters and sites nationwide from the 14th.
In the past decade, there have been 48 deaths from industrial accidents without skipping a year, killing 51 workers.
In particular, nine workers have died in seven accidents in the past two years, and three industrial accidents have already occurred this year.
The Ministry of Labor said it would supervise the company's headquarters and all sites across the country if another major disaster occurs this year at a construction company that has suffered a major disaster for the past two consecutive years.
As a result, Hyundai Engineering & Construction was disgraced for the third time in the construction industry, following Taeyoung Construction in March and Daewoo Engineering & Construction in April.
The Ministry of Labor said it will take measures such as suspension of work, corrective action, and judicial processing to prevent further accidents at sites that violate related laws, and if necessary, order the increase and change of safety managers.
