As LG Electronics decided to close down its smartphone business, LG affiliates, which have mainly used LG smartphones, are developing business apps for Apple iOS.
According to the IT industry on the 11th, labor and management of LG U+, LG Group's mobile operator, discussed a plan to allow other brand smartphones to be permitted as business smartphones during the recent collective bargain agreement with a worker's union.
Although LG U+ employees were not mandated to use LG smartphones, most of them have used LG smartphones, because the company reimbursed phone bills.
LG U+ has only supported business apps in Android versions so far, but has recently begun developing business apps for iOS, the iPhone's operating system.
Business apps for the iPhone are expected to be released in coming October. Other LG Group affiliates, including LG Electronics, have also supported business apps in the iOS version.
