[Infostock Daily= Reporter Song Jeong-hoon] Samsung Electronics' system semiconductor sales reached a record high in the first quarter of this year.
According to Samsung Electronics' 1Q results, semiconductor sales grew 21.9% year-on-year to 17.6 trillion won.
Among them, system semiconductor sales amounted to 4.5 trillion won, accounting for more than 25% of total semiconductor sales.
Samsung Electronics' system semiconductor sales reached a record high of 4.3 trillion won in the third quarter of last year, and this is the first time that its proportion has exceeded 25%.
Last year, Samsung Electronics announced 'Semiconductor Vision 2030', which will be ranked number one in the global system semiconductor field by 2030.
The second quarter outlook is also positive. Samsung Electronics expects a sudden price drop as limited as last year, despite the fact that DRAM and NAND flash inventories remain at normal levels, despite the influence of Corona 19.
“DRAM is expected to see solid growth in servers and PCs, and NAND flash will offset the decline in demand for smartphones by solid state drives (SSD) products due to increased demand for video content,” a Samsung source said.
