GS Retail announced on the 1st that it has signed a contract to acquire a 1.3% stake in Kakao Mobility.
The acquisition price of the stake is 65 billion won.
GS Retail expects synergy combined with future technologies in various mobility areas such as Kakao Mobility, electric vehicle (EV)-based eco-friendly logistics, last mile and pet (PET) taxis.
Specifically, GS Retail's delivery agency service 'Udel (Our Town Delivery)' and Kakao Mobility-related services will be affiliated.
The company plans to expand its business partnership related to unmanned quick service by utilizing 'BOX25', a non-face-to-face courier box currently operated by GS Retail.
