Asiana Airlines announced on the 9th that it was fined 96.9 billion won by the Seoul Regional Tax Office.
The imposition of the penalty was decided based on the results of a tax investigation that examined corporate taxes from 2015 to 2017.
"The 96.9 billion won is the expected amount of taxation on the notice of the tax investigation results," Asiana Airlines said. "We will review administrative procedures, including a request for review, regarding the appropriateness of the amount.".
The size of the additional fine is similar to Asiana Airlines' operating profit in the second quarter of this year, and if the additional fine is confirmed as it is, a financial blow to the company will be inevitable.
