Hyundai Mobis will invest 1.3 trillion won to establish hydrogen fuel cell plants in Incheon and Ulsan.
It is a facility for the production of the third-generation hydrogen fuel cell system to be released in 2023, and is a key base for the popularization of hydrogen energy in 2040, which Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun declared last month.
When mass production begins in earnest, Hyundai Motor Group will have the world's largest capacity to mass-produce hydrogen fuel cells, and its strategy to strengthen global hydrogen mobility leadership is expected to gain further momentum.
Hydrogen fuel cells to be produced in Incheon and Ulsan will be completed in the second half of next year with an annual capacity of 100,000 units and will be mass-produced in the second half of 2023 after test production.
