SK Innovation will supply batteries for Hyundai Motor's large electric sports utility vehicle (SUV) 'Ioniq 7'.
According to the automotive and battery industries on the 22nd, SK Innovation won orders for Ioniq 7 batteries recently ordered by Hyundai Motor.
The Ioniq 7 is the first large SUV vehicle to be applied to Hyundai's electric vehicle platform E-GMP and will be introduced in 2024.
Initially, the Ioniq 7 battery was reported to be produced by a joint venture established by Hyundai Motor and LG Energy Solutions in Indonesia, but SK Innovation reportedly won it on its own as it recently received a separate order.
SK Innovation is strengthening cooperation with Hyundai Motor by winning the Ionic 7 following Hyundai's first E-GMP model, Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6.
