The patent dispute between SK hynix and Netlist, a US semiconductor company, has been settled.
According to the industry on the 7th, SK Hynix and Netlist recently signed a cross-patent license for semiconductor memory technology of both companies. The two companies have decided to drop all patent lawsuits filed with the Western District Court of Texas and the US Patent Office.
Under the agreement, SK Hynix will pay $40 million in royalties to Netlist for getting access to Netlist's patent in the US and overseas. .
Earlier in March last year, Netlist filed a lawsuit with the Western District Court of Texas, claiming that SK Hynix violated two patents related to memory technology. The company also filed an additional lawsuit against SK Hynix, claiming that it violated another patent.
Netlist was founded in 2000 by Hong Chun-ki, a former CEO of LG Semiconductor. Since 2016, the company files the lawsuits against SK Hynix in the U.S. and China for patent infringement.
