[Infostock Daily= Reporter Park Sang-In] Sejong University (President Bae Deok-hyo) ranked third in Korea in the management and economy sector in the 2021 World University Evaluation released by Times Higher Education (THE), a British higher education evaluation institution. This is the result of a steady rise in ranking following the fifth in Korea in 2019 and the fourth in Korea in 2020.
The THE World University Evaluation evaluates five categories: educational conditions, research performance, thesis citation, internationalization, and industry-academic cooperation income. The Department of Business Administration and Economics of the College of Business Economics are representative departments that emphasize the educational conditions of students while promoting internationalization at Sejong University.
The Department of Business Administration obtained the world's fourth most prestigious AACSB (World Business University Development Council) certification in 2007. In 2012 and 2017, he was recertified and honored with three consecutive certifications.
Since 2014, 30 foreign students enter the business administration department every year. In particular, it is striving to create the world's best business school by conducting an International Banker of Business Administration (IBBA) program to enhance understanding of the international community and learn global sense.
The Graduate School of Business Administration is also speeding up internationalization, with more than 40 foreign students entering the school every year to obtain an MBA degree.
Since 2002, the Department of Economics has been operating an E-Room learning space where students can communicate and study with professors at any time. It focuses on providing practical help to students'career and self-development as well as supporting them to obtain certificates such as CPA, customs officers, and tax accountants.
"The third place in Korea is the result of encouraging business and economic departments to strengthen their research capabilities by attracting top professors from leading overseas universities," said Kim Kyung-won, dean of the School of Business and Economics. "We will continue our efforts to enter the world's top 100 in the near future. Furthermore, we will do our best to become a hub for Asian management and economic education.".
On the other hand, the THE World University Evaluation Grade is considered to have high public confidence in the world by applying strict standards based on classes, research, impact, and international prospects.
