[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-do] Hanwha System announced on the 27th that it has been selected as the organizer of R&D for the "Precise Identification of Next Generation Space Objects and Development of Active Response Technology" project, which is a leading core technology R&D project organized by industry and academia.
The business size is about 45 billion won and the research period is five years from next month to November 2025. Hanwha System will develop three areas: the development of next-generation space object precision tracking system technology and the development of artificial adaptive optics identification technology.
The next-generation space object precision tracking system is a system that accurately tracks space objects and predicts orbit by calculating the round-trip time of lasers fired from the ground.
Artificial adaptive optics identification technology is designed to obtain clear images when observing space objects from the ground, and modified mirror technology is applied.
The Hanwha Systems Consortium is the only one in Korea that has core technologies such as space distance measurement laser technology and precise orbit prediction technology.
