[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] KT (CEO Koo Hyeon-mo) announced on the 24th that it signed a strategic collaboration contract with JTS, an affiliate of Jasmine Group, a Thai information and communication company, to develop the IDC business.
Under the agreement, the two companies will share knowledge and experience of Internet data center projects for new business development in Thailand, develop financing strategies and business models for mutual cooperation, propose Internet data center solutions to global cloud service providers, and cooperate with technology and solutions related to Internet data centers.
The company plans to enter the Thai IDC market by the second half of 2021 and provide high-quality Internet data center services to global cloud companies.
In March, KT signed a contract to supply IPTV services with 3BB TV, an IPTV service provider of the Jasmine Group. KT explained that the Jasmine Group was able to build a strategic partnership in the IDC business, which is a common concern for improving network value, paying attention to Thailand's IDC market growth potential.
