[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] KEPCO provides alarms in case of emergency through analysis of power consumption and call record data using artificial intelligence (AI) to strengthen the social safety net of vulnerable households.
KEPCO announced on the 22nd that it signed a business agreement with SK Telecom in Seogwipo City Hall in Jeju Special Self-Governing Province to provide social safety net service using artificial intelligence.
The agreement was signed to provide Seogwipo citizens with a one-person household care service that utilizes KEPCO and SK Telecom's big data to strengthen the social safety net of vulnerable households.
'One-person household care service' is a service that analyzes the amount of electricity used by AI and detects abnormal patterns different from everyday life patterns by using telephone records. It is a service to prevent accidents such as loneliness by promptly informing the welfare officials of local governments.
KEPCO and SK Telecom will collect power usage and communication data, build a service homepage and conduct user training for the service. Seogwipo City plans to recruit elderly people under 64 years of age and to create a business cooperation system and utilize services.
Meanwhile, KEPCO conducted a demonstration project for the one-person household care service with Gwangsan-gu Office and SK Telecom in Gwangju last year. During the demonstration project, we have improved the user convenience function by reflecting the opinions of the welfare officers. We plan to provide improved services to other local governments in the future.
