[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister Park Yang-woo) and the Korea Tourism Organization (President Ahn Young-bae) will conduct a tourism global challenge program called Travel to SEA to support tourism companies' overseas expansion.

It is a project targeting tourism companies that enter the Southeast Asian market. From June to August, they conducted public offerings and screenings and selected eight tourism companies.

The final eight companies are various types of projects of tourism industry value chain such as ICT-based theme parks, live commerce, mobility, and accommodation platforms. In addition to the commercialization grant of 1 ~ 300 million won this year, systematic programs such as market verification, overseas buyer matching, and local road shows will be supported. The global accelerator Awesome Ventures, selected through the public offering of the project, will take on professional networks and research for companies' soft landing in overseas markets.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Corporation will establish a support project for scale-up of tourism companies from this year and expand customized support for each stage of corporate growth from a mid- to long-term perspective. Through the Global Challenge Program, we will find and support leading companies in tourism.

The tourism company's leading enterprise development project will have a budget of 5.1 billion won (3.6 billion won increase, government proposal) next year.
