[Infostock Daily = Reporter Kim Jong Hyo] Samsung Electronics will start construction of its third semiconductor production line next month at Pyeongtaek Campus in Gyeonggi Province.
According to Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province and Samsung Electronics on the 10th, construction of the third semiconductor production line(P3) of Pyeongtaek Campus, which will be invested more than 30 trillion won, will begin as early as September.
The P3 line is the largest of the six lines Samsung Electronics has decided to build on the Pyeongtaek campus. The final construction permit area is known as 700,000㎡, and it is expected to be combined with two layers of semiconductor production line and five or more floors of affiliated buildings such as offices.
Half of the six semiconductor factory sites secured at Samsung Electronics' Pyeongtaek campus due to the construction of the P3 line are in operation or are under construction.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics spent 98 trillion won on facility investment in the second quarter, and 14.7 trillion won in the first half of the year alone.
