Brand is for 'E-GMP' electric vehicles
[Infostock Daily = Reporter Kim, Jong Hyo] Hyundai Motor will launch IONIQ, a pure electric car brand with electric-global modular platform (E-GMP). The company announced on the 10th that it has decided to name the brand name of the exclusive electric car, which will be released sequentially from next year, as IONIQ. Hyundai Motor's stance of a separate, dedicated electric car lineup brand is part of its willingness to secure global leadership in the rapidly growing electric vehicle market.
Brand name IONIQ is meant to inherit the existing IONIQ heritage, which symbolizes future-oriented but pure eco-friendly technology. Ionic is a combination of ions that generate energy by electrical force and Unique, which means Hyundai's originality.
