It has been confirmed that Poland has expressed its intention to purchase FA-50 48s of domestic light aircraft.
The total purchase amount is expected to reach around 2 trillion won. According to defense industry sources on the 4th, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Walczak visited the Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) plant in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province, on the 31st of last month and sounded out his intention to purchase FA-50 48 units.
Poland is reportedly considering a mass purchase of FA-50 as a power to replace it while preparing to donate the anti-convulsant Mig-29 fighter operated by the Air Force to Ukraine.
Polish Ministry of Defense spokesman Krzysztof Płatek also tweeted on the 1st that "FA-50 is considered a platform to strengthen the Polish Air Force."
It is known that the price per unit of FA-50 is 40 million dollars (about 50 billion won). If 48 units are sold, it will be a large project with exports well over 2 trillion won. KAI is said to have established a Polish export management team to achieve the project.
