SK announced on the 16th that 'Soca Malaysia', the No. 1 Malaysian vehicle sharing company, has attracted a total investment of 65 billion won ($ 55 million).
Socar Malaysia is the first overseas expansion model for the Korean-style vehicle sharing business, established as a joint venture between SK Corp. and Socar in 2017, and started vehicle sharing service in Malaysia in January 2018.
SK acquired an additional stake in Socar in 2020 and is currently leading the local business as the largest shareholder.
Two global private equity funds, East Bridge Partners and Malaysian multinational Saim Darby, participated in the investment.
