It has been confirmed that POSCO E&C has been put on trial on charges of evading corporate taxes.
According to legal circles on the 16th, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors'Office summarily indicted POSCO E&C and its employee A on charges of violating the Tax Punishment Act in June.
A is suspected of evading about 100 million won and 5.8 million won in corporate taxes in April 2015 and April 2016, respectively.
POSCO E&C was summarily indicted in accordance with the joint punishment regulations.
The Seoul Central District Court brought the case to a formal trial early last month and the first trial was held at the hearing of Yang Hwan-seung, a senior judge of the Criminal Chamber 3 at the Seoul Central District Court.
