Shinsegae Group E-Mart, which acquired eBay Korea and secured an additional stake in Starbucks Korea, is seeking to sell its headquarters building.
The move is aimed at securing investment funds by selling the headquarters building where E-Mart's Seoul Seongsu branch is located.
According to the retail industry on the 29th, CBRE, an advisor for the liquidity of its headquarters in E-Mart and Seongsu-dong, recently distributed guidelines for the sale of its headquarters to major builders and developers in Korea.
The bid is expected for September. Seongsu-dong headquarters has a floor area of 99,000m2 and currently houses E-Mart headquarters and E-Mart Seongsu branch.
E-Mart is expected to re-enter some of the new buildings after the sale and redevelopment is completed. The plan is to sell the headquarters building to secure funds while maintaining the headquarters and E-Mart's Seongsu branch in its current location.
