KT announced on the 10th that it was selected as a business operator in the airport field of 'K-Drone System Demonstration Support Project', a project supported by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The K-Drone system is a drone traffic control system that allows drone flight planning approval, location information monitoring, and collision prevention with surrounding aircraft. The project will be carried out in areas of high public interest and high potential for commercialization, such as airports, urban areas, long distances and oceans.
In addition to KT, seven organizations, including Korea Airports Corp., Korean Air and GS Caltex, will participate in the project.
In addition to the demonstration project, KT signed a business cooperation agreement on K-UAM with Hyundai Motor, Incheon International Airport and Hyundai Engineering & Construction in September last year.
Based on this, KT is working closely together to develop a business roadmap and jointly participate in the K-UAM Grand Challenge. Starting with the 'K-Drone System Demonstration Support Project', KT plans to discover various service models through various Use Case demonstrations related to future mobility.
