WtE plant is a facility that selects combustible substances that are burned among waste discharged from home or industrial sites to generate power and heat through gasification, incineration, and thermal decomposition.
Energy can be obtained while reducing the burden of environmental pollution caused by landfill. Recently, it is attracting attention in Europe, which has difficulty replacing old power plants and securing landfills.
The order this time is the WtE plant in Warsaw, the capital of Poland.
Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction will supply 2 boilers worth 67 billion won and equipment such as nitrogen treatment machines. The plant, which is being promoted by MPO, a Warsaw municipal waste resource management company, supplies 20 MW worth of electricity and heat by treating 730 tons of waste emitted by 850,000 citizens a day.
It is the largest WtE plant in Poland. Warsaw WtE Plant is Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction's third WtE plant project in Europe.
Earlier, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction won orders for WtE plants in Olstin, Poland, and Dinslaken, Germany, respectively, in August and October last year.
