Cloud Air signed a MOU with Korea District Heating Corporation to commercialize astaxanthin production business

[Infostock Daily=Reporter Lee Ji-sun] Cloud Air is going to secure mass production technology of natural astaxanthin based on carbon dioxide, which is a problem around the world, and commercialize its business.

Cloud Air announced on the 25th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea District Heating Corporation and Korea University Industry-Academic Cooperation Group to commercialize astaxanthin production business using carbon dioxide.

While the average annual temperature at home and abroad has continued to rise due to the recent acceleration of global warming and climate instability, many countries and companies are looking for a solution to it.

Scientists pointed out that in order to achieve the goal of the Paris Convention on Climate Change signed in 2015, up to 2 billion tons must be reduced annually over the next decade. Korea has been implementing a carbon emission trading system since 2015 to reduce carbon dioxide emissions, and the government's proposed greenhouse gas reduction market in 2030 is expected to reach about 6 trillion won.

Cloud Air also signed a business agreement to overcome both the corona crisis and climate crisis proposed by the Green New Deal, and is determined to create the next generation of food by preoccupying the carbon emission market through business diversification in the future.

Through this agreement, Cloud Air will supply all of its biomass, a raw material for astaxanthin, and support technologies such as on-site mining and harvesting.

The Korea District Heating Corporation will support microalgae mandorla infrastructure facilities and various facilities and technologies, while Korea University will support the source technology of microalgae mandorla and derived biomass production.

In addition, Cloud Air will preoccupy microalgae culture technology using exhaust gas, while reducing CO2 and securing high value-added natural astaxanthin mass production technology.
