[Infostock Daily= Reporter An Hoe Hyun] LG Uplus announced on the 8th that it will cooperate with Mando on '5G Outdoor Autonomous Driving Robot Business'.
The cooperation between the two companies focuses on introducing 'cloud'-based outdoor autonomous driving robots with 5G communication and MEC(Mobile Edge Computing) technology.
To this end, the two companies will cooperate in interworking of robots with 5G · MEC infrastructure, establishment of ultra-low latency video control solution, cloud-based robot computing, and demonstration of outdoor autonomous driving robot technology.
Cloud-based outdoor self-driving robots can operate data processing and control systems that require complex operations on the cloud to increase performance as well as cost and operational efficiency.
The two companies held a signing ceremony on the business agreement at the LG Uplus Yongsan office, attended by key officials, including LG Uplus executive director Cho Won-seok and Mando WG Campus vice president Oh Chang-hoon.
