[Infostock Daily= Reporter Park Sang-In] Huons announced on the 17th that 'a functional material(HU-054) for improving sleep quality', which is being jointly researched with a research team led by Professor Jung I-sook of Ajou University College of Pharmacy, was finally selected for a government research and development project supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
'Sleep quality improvement functional material' is a new natural product material utilizing 'a beefsteak plant extract fermentation product'. Huons and Ajou University have signed a contract to 'technology transfer and joint R&D of functional materials to improve sleep quality’ in 2018 and have conducted joint research to develop them as functional raw materials for health functional foods. Non-clinical studies have confirmed the effects of 'stress relief and improvement of sleep quality', and are expected to be tested for human body application to recognize functionality as a raw material for health functional foods.
Huons and Ajou University will receive up to 1.8 billion won in government subsidies by 2022 as they are selected for this government research and development project. The grant will be used for human body application tests and commercialization of 'stressful tension relief and quality improvement of sleep of a beefsteak plant extract fermentation product'.
