LG Display will invest $ 1.4 billion (about 1.6 trillion won) to build an additional OLED (organic light emitting diode) module line in Vietnam.

The decision is due to increased demand for smartphones and TVs.

According to Reuters on the 31st, Haiphong City, Vietnam, approved LG Display's plan to invest $1.4 billion in the region to expand OLED facilities.

As a result, LG Display has become the largest investment company in the region with a cumulative investment of $4.65 billion, Haiphong explained.

With this investment, LG's OLED module production is expected to increase by 30-40% from 9 million to 10 million units per month to 13 million to 14 million units.
