[Infostock Daily= Reporter Ryu Ki-Heon] SK Innovation announced on 29th that it signed an investment agreement with the Georgia government on the establishment of the second factory of electric car battery on 25th.
SK Innovation will establish a second factory with a capacity of 39,998m2 in Georgia, USA, and produce an electric car battery of 11.7GWh annually from 2023. It will invest a total of $940 million (1.13 trillion won).
The investment is expected to create more than 600 new jobs, and a total of 2,600 jobs will be created if the existing first factory is combined with 2,000.
Following the investment of the first plant with a capacity of 9.8GWh in 2018, SK Innovation's global electric vehicle battery production will reach 71GWh in 2023.
