The Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office said that after establishing LS Global, a toll-taking corporation, it has indicted Koo Ja-hong, chairman of LS Nikko-dong Smelting Co., Koo Ja-yeop, chairman of LS Cable Co., and Koo Ja-eun, chairman of LS Mtron Co., for unfairly supporting the work of 21 trillion won worth of electricity for 14 years.
The prosecution also indicted the head of LS Nikko-dong Smelting Co., Ltd., LS Cable Co., Ltd., and LS Cable Co., Ltd., on the same charges.
LS said, "LS Global has been established in 2005 to supply the group's main raw materials, electric copper, and to be competitive in the industry at a national level. It has been traded at a normal price." "The difference between the position of the FTC and the prosecution will be faithfully called through ongoing administrative litigation and future criminal trials."
Meanwhile, the Fair Trade Commission imposed a total of 25.96 billion won in correction orders and penalties on LS Group affiliates on charges of violating the Fair Trade Act in June 2018, and accused six person of the charges.
