[Infostock Daily= Reporter Park Sang-In] Sejong University Painting Department held the opening ceremony of SR and Suseo Station platform murals on May 28th.
The event was attended by President Bae Duk-hyo of Sejong University and CEO of SR Kwon Tae-myeong, as well as Sejong University's Department of Painting dean, Lee Kang-hwa and students of painting.
The event was held in the order of △ production video screening △ greetings on both sides △ appreciation plaque △ commemorative photo shoot △ wall painting appreciation.
The murals produced at the 6th platform of Suseo Station were made with talent donations from Sejong University Painting Department 15th grade students Lee Ji-hwan, Kim Ki-chan, Seo Bo-min, Shin Jong-chan and Kwon Bong-gyun. Through this mural, SRT users can appreciate artworks even in their daily lives.
The mural is made in a very large size about 200 meters long, and unlike ordinary murals using paint, it is painted on woodcuts to show a unique color. Especially, pine forests and blue seas have the opposite image of underground concrete.
“I sincerely thank Professor Lee Gang-hwa, students and SR employees for creating a cultural space in the station,” said Bae Duk-hyo, president of Sejong University. “We hope that more cooperation will be achieved in the future, and our university will do its best to help.”
