[Infostock Daily= Reporter Lee Kang-wook] COFIX, the fund-raising cost index that is the standard for bank-floating interest rates and mortgage rates, fell all at once.

Newly handled Cofix, which reflects the fastest market rate fluctuations, has fallen to a record low.

Interest burdens for people using mortgage-backed variable-rate products are likely to decrease.

On the 16th, the Federation of Korean Banks announced The COFIX rate on monthly acquired new funds stands for March 2020 is set at 1.26 percent, 0.17 percentage points down from the previous month.

This is the lowest level in more than a decade since the announcement of Cofix in February 2010.

Cofix, which is based on the new balance, also fell 0.06% to 1.38%, the lowest since its first announcement in July last year.

The Bank of Korea's base rate cut led to a series of bankers lowering interest rates on receipts, and the five-year interest rate on financial bonds AAA, which had soared due to market instability due to the Corona 19 (COVID-19), recovered from stability, suggesting that the new handling amount of Cofix fell sharply.

Newly treated Cofix is calculated for newly raised funds in the month, reflecting relatively rapid market interest rate fluctuations.

Cofix based on balance and new balance were 1.66% and 1.38%, respectively, down 0.06 percentage points from the previous month.

The balance-based Cofix is 12 months, and the new balance-based Cofix is down for 8 consecutive months.

With the decline in the Kopix, the interest rate on variable main banks such as KB Kookmin, Woori, and NH Nonghyup Bank will also be lower from 17th, except for Hana Bank, which is based on six months of financial bonds.

Woori Bank's new handling amount The floating main bank interest rate will be adjusted from 2.83 ~ 3.83% to 2.66 ~ 3.66% on the 17th.

Kookmin Bank also plans to lower the six-month floating main bank interest rate based on new Cofix to 2.47 ~ 3.97% from 17th.
