[Infostock Daily= Reporter Lee Dong-hee] SM Entertainment and Naver announced on the 13th that they signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote joint global business to strengthen global entertainment competitiveness.

Through this MOU, the two companies will strengthen their collaboration in various ways to secure differentiated partnerships in the global entertainment market and strengthen global business competitiveness.

Through this alliance, SM Entertainment will combine its expertise in global artist discovery and production with Naver's base technology to expand the global market of the global membership community, the 'Fanship' platform.

The 'Fanship', which Naver introduced last year, is a platform based on big data. It is a new global community platform in which stars design and build their own membership for fans.

In addition, we will expand the video content business centered on the global market by combining the expertise of the two companies.

Through SM's ability to produce entertainment contents and Naver's global platform operation experience and technology, we will show new video contents based on digital technology and infrastructure centered on the global market.

As part of this, the live concert streaming service 'Beyond LIVE' service will start in mid-April.

Beyond relaying existing offline performances online, 'Beyond LIVE' service is a digital concert content optimized online.

In particular, as the non-face-to-face culture has spread recently, the two companies expect that stars and fans will lead a digital concert culture that has evolved to a new level by communicating with various digital technologies such as real-time comments and digital cheering sticks through the Beyond LIVE service.

'Beyond LIVE' service will be introduced first in V-live, and SM Entertainment's SuperM will show its first performance on April 26th.

“We are expected to expand the global market entry of the two companies by introducing new entertainment that has met content and technology through collaboration with Naver, which has excellent technology and solid platform base,” said Lee Sung-soo, co-chairman of SM Entertainment.

“We will work with SM Entertainment and Naver which are among the most influential global artists, to speed up the global entertainment market through digital technology competitiveness,” said Han Sung-sook, CEO of Naver.
