Chungbuk-do, Eumseong-gun, and Jincheon-gun signed an investment agreement worth 1.2 trillion won with Hanwha Solution and Bioplus on the 17th.
Hanwha Solution plans to invest 1 trillion won in Eumseong and Jincheon to expand its solar cell module plant in line with the expansion of the solar energy market.
Bioplus, a medical manufacturer, will spend 200 billion won to relocate its plant in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, to a 34,000-square-meter site in the Seongbon Industrial Complex in Eumseong.
The two companies promised to make efforts to implement the planned project and expand the size of their investments, while also making efforts to purchase local materials and hire local residents first.
Chungbuk-do and others are planning to provide administrative support to facilitate the project.
