At a regular board meeting held on the 5th, POSCO announced on the 15th that it has decided to establish an electric steel plate production plant for driving motors with a capacity of 300,000t per year by investing 1 trillion won sequentially starting next year.
The non-directional electric steel plate for driving motors is a product that has greatly improved power loss so that it can increase mileage by increasing the efficiency of the drive motor, a "heart" used in eco-friendly vehicles such as electric vehicles.
Through the facility investment, POSCO plans to expand the production of non-directional electric steel plates from the current 100,000 tons to 400,000 tons by 2025.
