GS E&C entered the Australian market for the first time by winning a road construction contract worth 2.8 trillion won.
The GS Engineering & Construction Consortium announced on the 28th that it participated in the bidding for the Northeast Link Public-Private Joint Investment (PPP) project in Australia and was selected as the final bidder by the Victoria state government.
The contract amount of GS Construction is about 3.17526 billion Australian dollars (about 2.7785 trillion won). It is a project to connect the disconnected sections between the northeastern outer ring road and the eastern road in line with the population growth and urban expansion of Melbourne, one of Australia's three largest cities.
The construction will be carried out on three three-way lanes with a total of 6.5 kilometers, including TBM tunnels and open tunnels, focusing on the construction of parallel tunnels, corresponding ventilation facilities, and surrounding connecting roads. The employer will carry out the operation and maintenance work for 25 years after completion.
