Hyundai Motor's Asan plant, which produces Sonata and Grandeur, will be closed for another three days two days after production resumes.

It is because of the supply shortage of semiconductors for vehicles.

According to Hyundai Motor on the 13th, production of the Asan plant will be suspended from the 15th to the 17th due to a setback in supply and demand of semiconductor parts for vehicles.

Production is expected to resume after the Chuseok holiday. Hyundai Motor announced that it shut down its Asan plant on the 9th and 10th and resumed production due to the re-supply of semiconductor parts on the same day, but eventually re-established the line after two days of normal operation.

Production disruptions that occurred for two days last week are estimated to be around 2,000. Hyundai Motor's Asan plant was shut down for four weeks from July 13 to August 8 for the construction of electric vehicle production facilities, and has since been shut down again in about a month due to a lack of semiconductor parts.
