Samsung Electronics'next-generation mobile application processor (AP) 'Exynos 2200' has been confirmed to have received 200 million pre-orders.
In addition, the Exynos 2200 is produced in the 5-nm process (nanometer, one-billionth of a meter) and is known to have surpassed Qualcomm due to its remarkable performance compared to its predecessor.
According to Samsung Electronics and related industries on the 1st, Samsung Electronics received 200 million pre-orders, including Samsung Electronics'IM division, before releasing the latest model of the Exynos 2200, which serves as the brain of smartphones, in the fourth quarter.
It is known that the GPU of 'Exynos 2200', the next-generation AP, has been replaced with a GPU developed by AMD based on the latest architecture RDNA2 from the existing Mali ARM.
At the Computex 2021 Keynote in Taiwan, AMD CEO Lisa Su also announced, "We will ship RDNA2 customer GPU on Exynos.".
In particular, the GPU performance of Samsung Exynos 2200 surpassed that of Qualcomm's latest GPU, 'Adreno 650', and it was confirmed that the heat problem raised by the Exynos 2100 last year was also resolved.
As the Exynos 2200 has recorded good performance and heat problems, it has received 200 million pre-orders, and the industry is expecting that it will be able to surpass Qualcomm and Apple this time.
On the other hand, some reported that Exynos 2200 is produced in 4nm foundry (semiconductor consignment production) process, but it turned out to be not true. As a result of the coverage, it is known that Samsung Electronics chose the 5nm process.
