KB Securities said on the 24th that it is expected to benefit from Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix's expansion of semiconductor investment in Wonik IPS, maintaining its investment opinion 'buy' and target stock price of 650,000 won.
"Samsung Electronics' investment in P3, expansion of Austin Fab, and expansion of investment in SK Hynix M16 are expected to lead the prolonged facility investment (CAPEX) cycle," KB Securities said. "As a result, Wonik IPS, the largest equipment company in Korea, is expected to benefit.".
According to KB Securities, Wonik IPS sales and operating profit rose 33% year-on-year to 403.5 billion won and 53.2% to 78.5 billion won in the second quarter.
Sales of semiconductors and displays are expected to rise 11.4% to 293.3 billion won and 174.8% to 110.2 billion won, respectively, during the same period.
KB Securities expects Wonik IPS operating profit to grow 63% year-on-year to 229.3 billion won this year, and is expected to be the highest performance ever as a listed equipment company.
