Hyundai Motor Group said it will operate high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles(EV) at 12 highway rest areas across the country from April 15th.
The company held the opening ceremony of the EV high-speed charging station 'E-pit' at the Hwaseong Rest Area on the Seohaean Expressway on the 14th. The ceremony was attended by Second Vice Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Hwang Sung-kyu, Vice Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Park Jin-kyu, Vice Minister of Environment Hong Jung-ki, Hyundai Motor President Gong Young-woon and Korea Expressway Corporation Vice President Kim Il-hwan.
Hyundai Motor's first electric vehicle Ionic 5 and Kia's EV6 charging demonstrations were also held. The E-pit charging station is a 350 kilowatt-class high-speed charging facility, the highest in Korea in terms of output.
