According to Yonhap News Agency on the 5th, Hyundai Motor's Asan plant, which produces Sonata and Grandeur, is adjusting its closing schedule with the union due to a lack of semiconductors for vehicles.
As the supply and demand of semiconductors for vehicles is expected to be normalized in the second half of the year, there are concerns in the industry that mass production of Genesis, Hyundai Motor Group's flagship brand, could also be disrupted. In the case of some Genesis models, mass production is reportedly disrupted due to difficulties in supply and demand of semiconductors.
Earlier, Hyundai Motor decided to shut down its first plant in Ulsan from the 7th to 14th of this month.
