'DID Alliance Consortium', which SK Telecom participated in 'Vaccine Passport' project that applies decentralized ID (DID) authentication technology, has been selected as the preferred bidder. However, negotiations are currently underway because the final bidder will be selected and specific details of the project will be revealed in April.
An official from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) said on the 31st, "The DID coalition was selected as the preferred bidder for the blockchain pilot project, but there are other businesses designated as the bidders, so we don't know who will be selected."
KISA is currently offering 'DID intensive business' as part of its blockchain pilot project.
Meanwhile, the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is also pushing to establish a system to issue a blockchain-based digital vaccination certificate.
