Administrative procedures of the Korean government have been completed for a semiconductor production complex that is equivalent to the size of 580 soccer fields in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
SK Hynix plans to invest a total of 120 trillion won from 2023 to build four state-of-the-art semiconductor plants. It is expected to have an employment effect of 17,000 people and create 188 trillion won worth of added value.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 29th that "the administrative process for the industrial complex has been completed as the Yongin Semiconductor Cluster Industrial Complex Plan has been approved and announced."
This project is a huge project to establish four state-of-the-art semiconductor plants of SK Hynix in Wonsam-myeon, Yongin. SK Hynix's total investment is about 120 trillion won. Construction will begin in 2023 and the first phase of the plant will be completed in early 2025.
