[Infostock Daily=Reporter Lee Ji-sun] Regarding LG and SK's electric vehicle battery suit, Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun reiterated on the 4th that "Settling the battery dispute is a way to meet the interests of the two companies and public expectations.".
Prime Minister Chung also called for an early agreement between LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation in connection with the battery lawsuit at the invitational debate of the Korea Broadcasting Journalists Club on January 28.
The U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) ruled on the 10th that SK Innovation will ban U.S. production and imports of some lithium-ion battery cells, modules and packs for 10 years.
The two companies have held negotiations on compensation several times, but they seem to disagree over the size of the settlement and whether to recognize infringement of trade secrets.
