[Infostock Daily=Reporter Lee Ji-sun] While the National Pension Fund has continued its net selling on the securities market (KOSPI), reducing the portion of local stocks since the end of last year, financial authorities have called on asset management companies that manage pension funds to submit related data.
According to the financial investment industry on the 19th, the Financial Supervisory Service asked major asset management companies that recently received four major pension funds, including the National Pension Service, government employees' pension, private school pension and post office insurance, to submit data on net purchase and net sales of pension funds from November last year to this month.
However, the Financial Supervisory Service said it requested data on the sale of pension funds in order to grasp market trends.
There is no coercion in submitting the data, so some operators without the pension fund's consent do not submit the data to the FSS.
The FSS's request from the operator for data on the sales trend of pension funds is attributed to the fact that the pension fund has been pouring out selling bombs for more than a month, raising complaints from individual investors.
According to the Korea Exchange, the pension fund has continued to sell its longest net on the KOSPI market for 36 trading days from December 24 to February 18 last year.
The total net selling amounted to more than 12 trillion won. In fact, the KOSPI surged this year, surpassing the 3,200 mark earlier this month, but it has continued its sluggish trend since then, continuing the box market between 3,000 and 3100.
Some analysts say that the pension fund's all-time net selling is aimed at distributing assets due to rising stock prices.
Pension funds set a certain proportion according to assets such as domestic and overseas stocks and bonds, and if they exceed the proportion, they shall be redistributed. Since November last year, the KOSPI has been selling to control the proportion of domestic stock assets as it has surpassed its high point in a row.
