[Infostock Daily=Reporter Lee Ji-sun] Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Chung Eui-sun is speeding up future businesses such as eco-friendly cars, urban air mobility (UAM) and robotics, making all-out efforts to transform Hyundai Motor Group from a traditional automaker to a "smart mobility solution"group.

2021 is expected to be the most dynamic year in Hyundai Motor Group's history with the full-fledged 'Chung Eui-sun system'. The transition to a smart mobility solution group, which Chairman Chung emphasized even before his inauguration, is expected to gain further momentum.

Hyundai Motor is not limiting the company's identity to the traditional auto manufacturing industry, but is also considering removing "motor"from its group name and Hyundai Motor's mission to contain its future direction.

Hyundai Motor Group has unveiled a new '2020 Strategy'that adds hydrogen fuel cells to existing mobility products and services through its recently held ' Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Invester Day'. It plans to invest a total of 60.1 trillion won in core future projects such as electric vehicles, UAM, autonomous driving, and hydrogen fuel cells by 2025.

Starting in 2022, the company will apply level 3 autonomous driving technology that allows drivers to drive without having to hold the steering wheel to mass-produced cars and continue to develop fully autonomous driving technologies of levels 4 and 5 through cooperation with global companies.

The UAM business builds a comprehensive product line for passenger and cargo transportation and plans to introduce a freight unmanned aviation system (UAS) equipped with hybrid powertrain to the market for the first time in 2026 and launch a fully motorized UAM model optimized for urban operation in 2028.

In addition, the key is to introduce hydrogen fuel cell system brand HTWO"to foster its hydrogen business and expand its business in earnest focusing on four major bases: Korea, Europe, the U.S. and China.".
