[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-do] Kakao Mobility (CEO Ryu Keng-sun) demonstrated "Operation Service Platform Technology for Large Cargo Truck Cluster Driving" in a study on a national project on the " Development of V2X-based Cargo Truck Cluster Operation Technology" organized by the Korea Expressway Corporation on the 27th.

Kakao Mobility's group operation service platform successfully demonstrated the entire process of group driving through a demonstration on the public road between West Yeoju IC and Yeoju JCT.

'Group driving' is a technology in which several large cargo trucks move in groups to autonomous cooperative driving technology. With leading vehicles in charge of driving at the center, other vehicles can join, communicate with each other and move on to autonomous driving through the platform.

The following vehicles that join the community drive at level 3 autonomous driving. It is drawing attention as a technology that can improve vehicle fuel efficiency by reducing air resistance and reduce the risk of accidents by reducing the fatigue of truck drivers. In particular, the establishment of an operating service platform in charge of Kakao Mobility is considered one of the most important tasks in implementing and implementing community driving technology.

Even if individual vehicles have excellent self-driving technology, it is impossible to realize collective driving without a platform that connects each vehicle to control the operation of the line.

For this task, Kakao Mobility has separately developed a mobile app platform equipped with functions such as road guidance navigation, an alarm board that sends warning messages in case of an emergency, a user interaction that provides various information generated when driving, and a tablet mobile app platform that transmits road images from the perspective of leading vehicles.

The cluster operation service platform consists of a 'matching algorithm' that identifies the route of cluster vehicles and connects vehicles to join the cluster, 'a routing algorithm' that predicts real-time traffic situation, joins the vehicle and presents a point of departure, and a 'control module' that manages the location, cluster status and vehicle status of vehicles connected to the platform.

Mobility technologies applied to Kakao Taxi, such as AI dispatch and navigation guidance, were also used. Among the technologies used in the cluster driving operation service platform, four autonomous driving platform technologies, including 'dynamic rally point determination technology'and 'AI-based cluster matching technology', which finds the optimal cluster joining point according to real-time traffic conditions, have been patented.
