Naver supports 80,000 founders with marketing expenses of 20 billion won for three years through 'Growth Point System'

[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] Naver said on the 19th that about 80,000 sellers have received more than one growth point so far through its "Growth Point" program, which began in 2017, and has provided about 20 billion won worth of growth points for early start-ups over the past three years.

The growth point program is Naver's marketing support program that provides points to test about a month of marketing for novice start-ups who opened "Smart Store," a Naver platform that helps build an online shopping mall.

Subject to the support are sellers who have opened the Smart Store for less than a year, and will be paid 150,000 points (more than 2 million won to less than 8 million won), 300,000 points (more than 8 million won to less than 40 million won), and 1 million points (more than 40 million won to less than 80 million won), respectively, depending on the three-month average transaction section.

Sellers can pay points to purchase customers as growth points or use them as search advertising enforcement costs.

As the number of new presidents challenging online start-ups increases with COVID-19, the number of small and medium-sized business owners (SME) who knocked on the door of such growth support programs is also increasing. The number of sellers who received growth points in the January-September period increased by 32% compared to the same period last year, and among them, SME, which has an average monthly transaction volume of more than 2 million won and less than 8 million won, accounted for 70%.

Naver said, "Because marketing can be carried out without any burden in the early stages of start-ups, the demand for growth points for SMEs who have just opened smart stores is very high," adding, "Recently, they have been using a lot of growth points to execute search advertising.".

In fact, the proportion of growth points used to execute search ads has increased every year, reaching 63% between January and September this year. Search advertising is a marketing tool that is friendly to small business owners because it can be advertised effectively with a small amount of money. Naver also provides related education through Partner Square and supports the marketing use of SME.
