[Infostock Daily= Reporter An Hoe Hyun] Naver announced on the 8th that it plans to build a supercomputer for the first time in Korea and raise its artificial intelligence(AI) technology competitiveness to the next level.
Naver has built its own AI platform 'Clova' and is conducting AI research and development in various fields such as voice recognition and synthesis, image/video analysis and natural language processing. Recently, it has strengthened its global technological competitiveness by creating a global AI research belt linking Korea, Japan, Europe and Vietnam.
Naver plans to build the nation's best and global supercomputer with a performance of more than 700 petaflops to quickly and safely process vast amounts of data secured by search and messenger. The company plans to create a super-large language model of Korean and Japanese that will surpass 'GPT-3'(Open AI's cutting-edge AI language model).
Among non-English languages, Naver plans to build a super-large language model in Korean and Japanese, to open a new chapter in AI technology research, and to provide new service experiences and business opportunities to Korean-Japanese users and operators.
