[Infostock Daily= Reporter Park Hyo-sun] The Korea Exchange will launch 'English Public Disclosure Translation Support Service' for 54 listed corporations including Samsung BioLogics and Naver from today(28th).
The plan is aimed at enhancing foreign investors' access to the local stock market by easing the burden on listed companies to submit English public disclosures and laying the foundation for revitalizing English public disclosures.
When a listed corporation submits a Korean public disclosure in Korean, a professional translation company designated by the exchange translates the public disclosure into English. The translation cost is supported by the exchange.
The participating companies are 54 listed on the KOSPI market and provide translation services for occasional · fair · information public disclosures.
Meanwhile, as of the end of last month, the market capitalization of stocks held by foreigners in the KOSPI market reached 35.3%. However, last year, there were only 697 English public disclosures(based on occasional · fair · information public disclosure). This is 5.9% of Korean disclosures.
