[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] Hyundai Motor's 8,783 GV80s will be subject to corrective action (recall) due to defects in the production of high-pressure fuel pumps.
The Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs said on August 22, "Due to the defects caused by the high-pressure fuel pump during the manufacturing process, foreign substances occurred inside the building, and it was confirmed that the engine would be turned off because the fuel was not supplied."
Regarding the defect, Hyundai Motor's direct service center and Blue Hands are in the process of replacing it after checking it free of charge.
GV80, cumulative recalls exceed sales
The recall totaled 29,547 GV80 recalls this year.
Considering that the cumulative sales volume of the GV80 is 21,826 units by August this year, the cumulative number of recalls exceeded the sales volume.
The GV80 recalled 823 units in February after a stop-and-go software error was discovered.
In April, a total of 4,004 vehicles were recalled due to a malfunction in the smart parking assistant function and the warning of the car change assistant function.
In July, 15,997 units were recalled due to an error in which the driving distance in the dashboard was higher than the actual one, as the fuel was turned in one direction when stopping at the ramp.
In addition, the GV80 has been constantly leading to production defects, including the recall of the Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs, as diesel models have been subject to engine tremor controversy.
The GV80 diesel model was suspended in June due to engine tremors and resumed in August, two months later.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport ordered the recall of 27,414 units, including Kia's Stinger, Volvo XC60, Audi Passat, and GM Korea Trail Blazer.
In connection with the recall of the car, the manufacturer will inform the owner of the corrective method by mail or mobile phone text.
If the owner of the car repairs at his own expense before the recall, he can apply for compensation to the manufacturer.
