[Infostock Daily=Reporter Park Jeong-Do] Daelim Industrial said it succeeded in installing a carbon dioxide removal facility consisting of two large tank-type structures at the ammonia production plant under construction in Saudi Arabia.

According to Daelim Industrial on the 21st, the structure is about 50m high per one structure and weighs 490t and 584t, respectively, which is more than 1,000t.

It is a key facility for the "Ammonia Production Plant" that Daelim Industrial is building in the Ras Al-Khair region, 80 km north of Jubail, eastern Saudi Arabia. In the process of producing ammonia as the raw material the natural gas, it plays a role of removing the carbon dioxide obstructing synthesis.

Daelim Industrial took a year and two months to build. It was made of stainless steel, which is strong in steel and corrosion. The structure, which had been built, was moved along the waterway to Saudi Arabia on the other side of the globe.

The installation, on the other hand, ended in about 11 hours; after the local transport, Daelim Industrial completed all the processes in a short time, including the construction and installation of a 1250-ton large crane.

As the construction of the core carbon dioxide removal facility is completed, the construction schedule is smooth. Currently, it has a 61% completion rate and is scheduled to be completed in the second half of next year.

Daelim Industrial is increasing its order and demand with advanced technology in ammonia production field.

Daelim Industrial successfully completed the Saudi Maden ammonia production plant in the same process as the project in 2016, and succeeded in winning additional orders based on this.

Ammonia has been widely used in the manufacture of synthetic fertilizers, coolants, medicines, and surface treatment of metals, and is attracting attention as a high value-added petrochemical product.

The construction was ordered by Saudi state-owned mineral company Maden, and the total project cost is about 1.1 trillion won. Daelim Industrial carried out the project with the EPC Lump sum Turnkey, which is responsible for design, equipment purchase and construction, and started construction in November 2018. When the construction is completed, the plant will produce 3,300 tons of ammonia per day.
